Taiwan (China) initiated an anti-dumping investigation into cement and clinker originating or imported from Việt Nam, with the alleged dumping margin against Việt Nam being 16.99 per cent.
Exports of cement and clinker reached an impressive figure of about 19.26 million tonnes in the first five months of this year, increasing by 50 per cent over the same period last year.
Cement and clinker consumption in the country grew over 15 per cent, to
24 million tonnes, from the beginning of this year, meeting 32 per cent
of the year''s target.

Tran Viet Thang has asked member cement companies to boost domestic
consumption by at least 10 per cent this year.
In spite of continuing economic difficulties, cement and clinker
consumption next year will reach roughly 71 million to 73 million
tonnes, a four- to seven-per cent year-on-year increase.
